I put the hash browns in hot water first to get them thawed if they are frozen.
Mix sour cream and soup together.
Add to hash browns. Then add the cheese. Spread in 9x13 pan.
Melt butter - I think my recipe calls for one stick, but I usually don't add that much...maybe half to 3/4 of a stick. Just pour that over the potatoes. I usually "poke" holes in the potato stuff so that the butter doesn't just sit on top.
I cover mine with tin foil. Bake at 350....usually takes at least an hour and a half. Stir them at some point while cooking...
