Marilyn Haapapuro’s Cheesy Potatoes

Marilyn Haapapuro’s Cheesy Potatoes

Ingredients

  • One bag of hash browns
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 12 oz shredded cheese more or less
  • melted butter

Instructions

  • I put the hash browns in hot water first to get them thawed if they are frozen. 
  • Mix sour cream and soup together.
  • Add to hash browns. Then add the cheese. Spread in 9x13 pan.
  • Melt butter - I think my recipe calls for one stick, but I usually don't add that much...maybe half to 3/4 of a stick. Just pour that over the potatoes. I usually "poke" holes in the potato stuff so that the butter doesn't just sit on top.
  • I cover mine with tin foil. Bake at 350....usually takes at least an hour and a half. Stir them at some point while cooking...
