Pete’s Camp Taters

Pete’s camp taters stick to your ribs and are the perfect side dish to warm you up for long morning in a cold duck blind. They are by no means healthy, but they are delicious down-home camp food!

Ingredients

  • 6 Idaho Potatoes
  • 1/2 Stick of Butter
  • Black Pepper
  • Season Salt
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder

Instructions

  • Begin by peeling and slicing the potatoes (au gratin style) into 1/8 inch or thinner slices.
  • Next, warm up your pan over medium-high heat to melt the butter.
  • Then, place your potatoes in the pan and liberally season with black pepper, season salt, onion powder, and garlic powder while mixing the potatoes to coat all sides.
  • Stirring occasionally throughout.
  • Cover and cook until potatoes are al dente (~10 minutes).
  • Finally, remove the cover and cook 5 additional minutes to crisp.
  • Enjoy!
